What is waxing?
Unwanted hair is removed using a wax type product. The wax is applied to the areas of the skin with hair, then pulled off, taking the hair with the root.
Why is waxing better than shaving?
Shaving stretches then cuts a hair just under the skin. This leaves a sharp, coarse end of the hair shaft that grows back quickly to the surface resulting in stubble.Sensitive skin areas develop irritation and red bumps. Shaving can create stronger roots and coarser hair. Since waxing removes hair at the root, it takes up to 4 weeks for a hair follicle to grow a new hair to the surface. Furthermore, in some areas of the body, the regrowth experience is a softer, finer
textured hair ...a result of a “new hair growth”, not cut hair.
What is hard wax?
Hard wax does not require a cotton strip to be pulled off the skin. It is applied thicker then soft wax and “shrink wraps” the hair without adhering to the skin. It is removed by being lifted off, not “pulled” off with a cotton strip, leaving little or not irritation to extra sensitive skin.Hard wax is sometimes called strip-less wax.
When is soft wax used?
Soft wax is used for larger, less sensitive area with coarser, more concentrated hair growth.
A cotton strip is needed to remove the wax from the skin.
